Balsa tail surfaces with airfoil sanded in. Tail can easily be made removable at builders discrescion. Complete hardware.
The Hammerhead fuselage has not only one of the strongest fuselages in one-design racers, it is also one of the cleanest. One reviewer commented on the clean, round fuselage, noting the impressive fit in the wing-saddle area. This plane is top quality. The wing has added glass for toughness under the balsa skin, as well as carbon darts for extra strength. Other one-design planes will not have the same level of quality you find in the Hammerhead.
I know, I know, it doesn’t look like anything else! All I can say is, "fly the plane" excellent crisp handling, low energy loss in the turns and No Bad Habits. (the plane, not the girl, thats a whole nuther story) At the Cumberland Soar for Fun, Rudy Siegel spent a lot of time trying to make the plane tip stall. He never did get the job done!
It’s just this simple guys, with One Design Rules there isn’t much you are gonna do to make your plane "faster" than the next guy. All you can do is optimize for the turns and clean things up a bit. I think the Hammerhead does just that. Apparently, I’m not the only one. At it’s first public outing on the slope four of the guys who flew it, ordered one on the spot.
On the "more photos" page is a picture of the kit componants for "Hammer" Fuse, ready with the sub-nose installed and nose cone fitted. Wing hold down blocks are already in place for you. Wings are presheeted and have the leading and subtrailing edge already attached and about 90% preshaped. Very little work here. Airfoiled tail surfaces. The tail actually mounts to the carbon sleeve rather than the fuselage and can be made easily removable at the builders discrescion. Complete hardware. All wood is top quality balsa except for the Basswood leading edge for durability.
