June 12, 13, 14 …in beatiful Carlisle, PA!
The Polecat Challenge is the biggest and best handlaunch contest on the East Coast – and the biggest Sportsman HLG contest in the US!
Whether you just got your first handlaunch glider, are fair-to-middlin’ or you are world-class, there is no better place to be in June to fly DLG than at the Polecat Challenge.
The Polecat National Anthem
Friday – The 3rd Annual Polecat Pro-Am
The Pros and the Am’s (experts and sportsmen) team up to beat up on each other. Never been to a DLG competition before? Don’t know the lingo? Don’t know the tasks? Piece of cake! Show up a day early and learn and be learned!
Saturday & Sunday – The Polecat Challenge
The Polecat Challenge you know and love… Just like 2008, the Polecat Challenge is now a 2-day cumulative contest. Saturday is a full day of flying, Sunday is a final 4 or 5 rounds, then the 12-man Expert AND Sportsman fly-off! The top 6 from each class get to duke it out while your buddies watch.
Pig Roast and Raffle
Saturday Night – All-you-can-eat pig roast dinner with all the trimmings. Moved to Saturday Night by popular demand. And if that wasn’t enough, get your greasy mitts on some great RC schwag during one of the biggest soaring raffles in the US! Ticket sales starting soon.
Classes & Trophies
Get some wood in one of our 3 classes! One pilot, one class.
- Expert: Pretty much self explanatory
- Sportflyer: For folks with less hard-core contest experience
- Novice: For first-time (or second-time) contestants only!
ALL classes will have daily trophys and be eligible for the overall trophy for the weekend!
What tasks y’all flyin’?
The “official” tasks will be comin’ soon – in the meantime, check out the 2007 Polecat Challenge Rules and Tasks.
