Atmosphere

The “Visalia” of the DLG world! Come for the comradery AND the competition. “User friendly” format where we try to make it as easy as possible for new contestants to feel comfortable with all the help they can stand!

Contest Format

Two days of all-out DLG competition - tasks to be determined day of contest, but expect the standard tasks. 5×2, 3×3, 1,2,3,4, etc.

A little different than your average contest with the likes of Phil Barnes, Mark Drela, Tom Kiesling, Don Vetter, Oleg Golovidov, Bruce Davidson and on and on.

Classes & Trophies:

Get some wood in one of our four (4) classes! One pilot, one class.

  • Expert: Pretty much self explanitory
  • Sportflyer: For folks with less hard core contest experience
  • Limited: For DLG’s and Handlaunch planes with 50″ or less wing span
  • GEEZER CUP: Optional for folks 55 and older at the time of the contest

ALL classes will have daily trophys and be eligible for the overall trophy for the weekend!

Meet the Experts and See the New Gear

Saturday evening DLG clinic and gear demonstrations!

With Phil Barnes and other experts where you can work on whatever you like from launching to trimming. Also, product demonstrations from the manufacturers! The guys who flew their first contest here last year can tell you that you will learn more in two days than in a year of flying by yourself and have a great time doing it!

Food

Lunches at the field both days and a huge BBQ Pig Roast at the field Saturday night.

Gigantic Raffle

We have what I believe to be the single best raffle in dlg contest land! Pilots will receive a raffle ticket with their paid entry and additional tickets are available for purchase. Raffle includes items like a new XP-4/4.5 and a new Taboo GT, plus a ton of other stuff. Check out our huge list of raffle sponsors!

International Competitors

This is huge! Denny and Phil Barnes have teamed up together to make an amazing offer to any competitor outside of North America (Canada, United States, Mexico). Any international competitor who makes their way to the Polecat Challenge will receive a FREE XP-4 kit!

Bill Haymaker Video

Bill Haymaker who made last year’s Polecat DVD is back this year! We are making an effort to follow a few folks throughout the contest, so if you are interested in being one of our “featured stars” let us know!

Near as I can tell we have it all! Fun, Food, learning, trophys, prizes and more fun!
