Installing Servos & Linking Ailerons
The pre-cut servo bays in the wings are cut so that with minor adjustment any servo will fit. The Dymond D-60 is a popular choice for a DLG wing servo given it’s extremely thin case (which should fit flush with the bottom of the XP-4/XP-4.5 wing). Other choices include the Hitec HS-55 and the JR-241. Place the servo of your choice over the pre-cut servo bay and mark the overlap with your marker, or lightly cut the surface with a hobby knife.
Using a sharp hobby knife, cut away the skin of the overlap you just marked. Then, carefully remove the foam from the overlap below. The servo should sit flush with the bottom of the wing, so you may need to shim the bottom of the servo with 1/32″ plywood to get it flush.
